About

The Neue Schule Academy was created in 2015 to introduce a rational and evidence-based approach to the subject of what was traditionally known as “Bitting”.  The new discipline of Lorinery Science emerged out of the courses that were developed to teach students how bits work and why they are designed the way they are.

In 2025 the NS Academy, after becoming a global provider of both academic and vocational studies in Lorinery Science, became the International School of Lorinery Science, as an acknowledgement of its prominent position in equitation science across the globe.

The courses offered through the School start with fundamentals where little background knowledge or academic proficiency is required. Later courses are designed to bring the student through increasing levels of insight and introducing in a careful way, techniques and principles drawn from engineering and veterinary science.

Coupled with knowledge of the equine anatomy and best practice in horsemanship the addition of Lorinery Science to the vocational study area of Bit and Bridle Fitting brings an academic underpinning to matching bits to a horse and providing a modern approach to advising riders on their choice of bits.
