The Certificate in Equine Bits and Bitting Science course is designed to enhance learner’s knowledge about bits and bitting and is suitable for anyone with a passion for horses and a desire to learn. The information gained can be applied to every-day bitting scenarios to help owners make informed bitting choices.

Assessments
The course is assessed through online examinations consisting of a Mid-session exam and a Final exam. These exams are split into two parts (Level I and Level II).
LEVEL I
Short answer, multiple choice assessment.
LEVEL II
A more complex short answer assessment which requires deeper thinking and application of prior knowledge to new scenarios.
Teaching and Support
The course is largely self-study but tutors are on-hand to respond to queries on a group or individual level. Student
forums are available for students to share knowledge and any issues with the course work. In addition, there are videos on some of the basic mathematics to provide clear and easily understood principles.
All fee-paying students benefit from free enrolment on the Mathematics for Bits and Bitting Module and a certificate is offered for those choosing to complete the examinations (optionally). Lantra registration is not included in this offer.
COURSE DURATION
The course is open for 8 weeks and will take approximately 40 hours to complete.
